Welcome to Rabat!
Rabat is the capital city of Morocco. Over 2 millions people live in Rabat; making it the country's second largest city located on the Atlantic ocean. It has a rich history but is a fairly new capital, it’s very pleasant, but not congested. The boulevards are wide, the souqs are not too hectic and there's a cosmopolitan feel to the outdoor cafes and restaurants
Rabat has a small airport, just outside of town; the international airport is in Casablanca. Frequent trains from Casablanca take an hour to reach Rabat. The Medina in Rabat is a fun place to shop and stroll. The Kasbah des Oudaias is a beautiful fortified city, on a bluff overlooking the ocean. The main gate leads to narrow streets inside the Kasbah: stroll around and visit the oldest mosque in town. Challah an ancient Roman site is very pretty with fruit trees and storks, and crumbling ruins. Hassan Tours and the mausoleum are famous landmarks1.
