Informations over the 2 students’ halls of residence
The “Jules Mousseron” hall of residence is situated right next to the main “Mont Houy” campus. It is open all year through. International exchange students can stay for a period of time ranging from 1 – 12 months. Following types of accommodation are available :

Furnished room with individual bathroom (shower, washbasin and toilets).
Total area : 12.5m², shared cooking facilities.
Room rate 2012-2013 = 224.15 €/month (deposit equivalent to 1 month rent) to be paid at your arrival -
Furnished room with kitchenette (washbasin, cooking rings and fridge) and individual bathroom (shower, washbasin and toilets). Total area : 12.5m² Shared cooking facilities.
Room rate 2012-2013 = 238.57 €/month (deposit equivalent to 1 month rent) to be paid at your arrival. -
Studio with kitchenette (washbasin, cooking rings and fridge) and private bathroom.
Total area 14.5m²
Room rate 2012-2013 = 350.12 €/month (deposit equivalent to 1 month rent) to be paid at your arrival.
Important : it is common that students who arrive at semester 2 (spring semester) have to wait some days before entering their definitive room (the room might be still occupied by a student leaving at the end of the 1st semester). In most of cases, they’ll be proposed to benefit from a temporary room. If not, they’ll have to spend some nights at the hotel.
The hall of residence “Les Tertiales” is situated in the town center of Valenciennes close to “Les Tertiales” campus. Accommodation can only be booked for a complete academic year from 1 September to 31 August. It offers :
- Type T1 or T1 bis furnished studio (total area = from 25 to 35m²) with individual bathroom and kitchenette.
Room rate 2012-2013 = from 301.22 to 467.57 €/month (deposit equivalent to 1 month rent) to be paid at your arrival.
At their arrival, students will have to pay the 1st month rent and the deposit. Then, they’ll have to pay the rent each month, before the 10th of each moth. Non- European students will have to pay several months in advance (3 to 4 months in advance).
As an international student, you can applicate for a financial help « Aide au Logement » by the French Caisse d’Allocations Familiales (CAF). Students will have to complete application files during the first month of their arrival. Financial help can amount to 40 to 100€/month, according to types of room.
