A. Mark Williams is Professor of Motor Behaviour at Liverpool John Moores University, UK. He has published over 80 peer-review journal articles, 8 books, 40 book chapters and 50 professional articles and has made over 100 conference presentations and keynote lectures word-wide.

He sits on the Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology, the Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology, the Journal of Sport Sciences, the Scandinavian Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport and the European Journal of Sport Sciences and has acted as a Guest Editor for special issues of Human Movement Science, Journal of Motor Behavior and the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Applied.

Professor Williams has been the recipient of highly prestigious Distinguished Scholar Awards from the International Society of Sport Psychology in 2002 and the North American Society for the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity in 2003. He has also been a Visiting Professor at Florida State University and at the Universities of Florida, Calgary and Marseilles.

He has received over £2 million in external funding for his research work from Federal agencies such as the Economic and Social Research Council and British Academy, as well as commercial companies such as Nike and Umbro. His work in the areas of anticipation and decision-making, talent identification and development and practice and instruction has been funded by several professional soccer clubs any by organisations such as the Football Association and FIFA.
