Conference on Control and Fault-Tolerant Systems, SysTol'10
October 6-8, 2010, Congress Center, Nice, France

Special Session on "Diagnosis and fault tolerant control with Petri nets"
Call for papers
Faults detection and isolation (FDI) methods are a major challenge in order to preserve the systems and human life safety and then to make the right decisions on emergency actions and repairs. Moreover, in highly automated industrial systems where maintenance or repair cannot be carried-out immediately, it is crucial to design fault-tolerant systems capable of ensuring nominal performance when taking into account the occurrence of such faults. As long as discrete events systems (DESs) are concerned, Petri nets (PNs) are a suitable tool for the modeling, performance evaluation, control, and diagnosis of such systems. The special session will focus on diagnosis and fault-tolerant control with PNs and their implication in the monitoring and maintenance of DESs. The following topics are concerned:
* performance evaluation and reliability with PNs
* FDI methods and diagnosis with PNs
* control design and ault tolerant control with PNs
* application to manufacturing systems, computer science, transportation,...
Presentation of theoretical researches accompanied with practical experience/consideration are encouraged. Submissions from
students are strongly encouraged. The accepted papers will be available on IEEE Xplore.
All the instructions for paper submission are included at the conference
